All the stuff we are going to bring . . .
For my pack, I went with a Gossamer Gear Gorilla Ultra Light with the add on hip belt. This pack fits me so much better than any other I’ve worn and it weighs in at only 30 ounces with the hip belt. My previous pack was 2.5 lbs.
I carried Gossamer Gear hiking poles. They are fixed length, meaning they can’t collapse. I chose fixed length as I find collapsable poles always make an annoying clicking noise. These poles also doubled as our tarp poles. Yay for weight savings!
After years of blisters I have come to love Altra‘s giant toe box trail runners. I went with Lone Peak in 10.5. I think that may have been a half size too small for me as I still got blisters on the back of my heels and tips of my toes. Other than that I loved these shoes. They weigh only 10 ounces.
